The month to celebrate all the ghouls, ghosts, and goblins has finally arrived! To all those who relish the season of fright, trick-or-treating, and seeing pumpkins displayed around town, Coronado is the destination for your Halloween retreat this year. With our warm October evenings and countless events for all ages, our charming community promises a recipe for the most memorable Halloween yet.
Not just cities with endless beaches and perfect year-long weather, San Diego and Coronado offer countless family-friendly activities for all seasons. The same is true for All Hallows’ Eve. Take advantage of our numerous events for the whole family.

Coronado Community Center
The Coronado Community Center will delight your senses with gruesome grub, carnival games, mons-terric crafts, and a "tot lot” at their annual Halloween Happening.
The main attraction, the mysterious haunted house, will progressively become scarier throughout the evening. Preschoolers are invited from 3:30-4:30 pm. Everyone is welcome from 4:30-5:30, and only the bravest of the 6th graders to adults are invited to join from 7-9 pm as the house reaches its frightening peak.

Orange Avenue, Coronado
Wander downtown if you dare! Merchants, witches, and ghosts welcome trick-or-treaters to their door for the annual Main Street Goes Ghostly. Businesses and the Main Street Board members will be handing out “Ghostly Goodies” to all who pass their way.
Don’t forget to pass by the large cauldron in Rotary Plaza to cast a spell and collect a coupon for the drawing that night.

Farmers’ Market at Ferry’s Landing, Coronado
Why bother with all the guts involved with carving when you can just paint your pumpkin? Join other young pumpkin painting enthusiasts at the Coronado Farmers’ Market. The event will host volunteers to help little ones decorate their gourds.

Returning for the 4th season, Boomont Park will mix delight with fright as they host their family-friendly festivities. Between zombie laser tag, a spooky coaster, and pumpkin painting, they will showcase all your favorites about the Halloween season.

Once San Diego turns the calendar to October, haunted houses start to speckle the city. For a terrifying look into the realm of the unnatural, investigate the unexplained happenings at the San Diego Haunted Hotel. Daring to enter through the doors will plunge you into a world of chaos and unknown. The terror is renown, even winning this hotel prestige as one of the top three haunted hotels in the country in 2011.
Remember to avoid the creepy dolls and the corridors infested with zombies as you scramble to find your way out.

Balboa Park, San Diego
Taking advantage of the long wiry trees and overgrowth in the area, the Haunted Trail promises a stroll through the park that you will never forget. Twisted pine groves and gnarled oaks provide natural cover for the disturbances conjured up just for the Halloween season. Prepare to encounter a myriad of chilling characters, from Freddy, Jason, Michael Myers, and the Ring Girl to name just a few.
Before you even enter the trail, you’ll have to escape the disturbing maze known as “the eXperiment.”
