It’s officially the time of year where we start dreaming of Easter egg hunts and devouring those delightfully delicious, multi-colored peeps. Soon our parks and yards will transform to a sea of brightly colored eggs and playful children, scouring every nook and cranny for the rewards hidden inside.
Yes, Easter is hiding just around the corner. For those of you who don’t have the date smothered with bunny stickers on your calendar, mark off April 16th, 2017 for the impending sugar rush.
Which prompts the question, how should you best celebrate while enjoying your time in Coronado? Whether you are new to the area or a native-born local, we have the ultimate guide to spending Easter in Coronado.
On your mark, get set, go! Get those baskets ready because hunting eggs is on top of the activity list. The Coronado Community Center is hosting a FREE Easter egg hunt. To ensure everyone has a good time, they will debut age-specific groups to launch their egg quests. The hunt starts at 1:00 pm at the Coronado Community Center.
Hold onto your baskets because this entire affair is about to get even better. As part of the entire Easter festivities, the Community Center is also hosting breakfast with the Easter Bunny. How can you beat a full pancake breakfast with the honored guest hopping around to say hi? The breakfast also includes a small-specialized egg hunt, crafts, face painting, and more.
Tickets are $11 for adults and $9 for children under 16. Breakfast starts at 9 am at the Coronado Community Center.
Find more information on both events here or call 619-522-7342.
If you prefer a champagne style brunch to pancakes with the Easter Bunny, then the Hotel Del Coronado has you covered. Combining gourmet food offerings with waterfront views, this luxurious experience features regionally inspired dishes, international cuisine, and mimosas.
For guests they offer a complementary egg hunt. Tickets range from $125-135 for adults and are $50 for children over five. Brunch is available from 9 am-2:30 pm and reservations are required. Call 1-619-522-8490 to reserve your spot.
Forget the champagne; go for the mimosas or specialty Prosecco wines this Easter. One of the island’s most popular Italian restaurants, Il Fornaio, hosts a decadent brunch every Sunday. For Easter, they offer a condensed menu with specialty-plated dishes to truly treat your taste buds from 10 am to 2 pm. Savor applewood-smoked bacon, aromatic frittatas, or mouthwatering smoked salmon omelets as you and your family celebrate another joyous Easter. After 2 pm, they will offer a condensed dinner menu until 5 pm when they will have their Regionale specials available. While not the traditional buffet, these rich flavors and quality portions ensure that all patrons leave full and happy.
For adrenaline enthusiasts, the Red Bull Air Race will embark right out their front door in the late afternoon.
No passport needed to jump into the world of fine Italian cuisine, but a reservation is highly recommended. Reserve your spot here.
